It’s very unlikely that there is anything I can do to save her but I have a bielefeler pullet who is 4 days old. She is gasping for breath and it’s almost like her middle half isn’t strong enough to hold her up. I’ve tried giving her water and most of the things but does anyone know if there is hope to save her?

Her diet is Eden feeds, which has grit in it. I haven’t given the chicks anything besides their chick food so far. And I am using a Tractor Supply brooder plate. Earlier today she was acting like a normal chick so that’s where it’s confusing.

Could she have gotten injured?

With small chicks I always check to make sure their vent isn't clogged.

I would try chick saver or a home made electrolyte solution. For one that small I would soak a q tip in the solution or use my finger to drip it along the side or very tip of her beak.

I did check her vent and even squeezed some poo out. They have had electrolytes in their water since the beginning, should I still try that? I also have this Vet RX from wine of my other sick chickens, but I think that is just for respiratory problems.

Since she seems weak I would make sure she is getting some by hand feeding it as described. I don't think you can trust that she's drinking enough on her own.

If you have nutri drench, that might be better although I'm not sure if you would give that full strength to a baby.

I'd skip the vet rx

Yeah, I have been making her drink water every couple minutes, and I am thinking I will make her some scrambled eggs to that she has something easy to eat

How was she yesterday? Was she showing any other signs of weakness before this? How are the other chicks doing as well?

So unfortunately she has passed, but all the other chicks seem fine and everybody is alert and doing their cycles of eating, drinking, and sleeping. Currently my guess is possibly something internally happened like she wasn’t developed correctly.

So sorry that you lost her like that.. may she rest in peace now. Hopefully your other chicks do well. :(
