One of my chickens got attacked by a hawk earlier and i just found her an hour ago. I have set her up in my emergency area given her water and food. Her back is tore up bad, there are spots where she has no skin left, I can see muscle. Honestly she smells like skinless raw chicken out of a package and her back looks like it in spots. I made wound cleanser and am waiting for it to cool so I can use it on her back. She was up and walking around when I found her and her eyes are bright and alert. I have blue-coat but I'm not sure I should use it on her wound seeing as it's right down to her muscles. What else can I do to help my poor girl. I am starting to wonder if it wouldn't be nicer to put her down than have her in this pain. Any help would be greatly appreciated at this time seeing as my local vet doesn't know their *** from their elbow and will be no help to me.

Really sorry to hear about the hawk attack. Hope she pulled through. :)
