My chicken were just attacked by 2 of our dogs. They got into the coop. 2 are dead 4 are still breathing. What do I do? What do I look for? 2 are sitting on the ground one is clucking.

As a former trauma nurse all you can do is feel for broken bones, treat active bleeding, hydrate and provide rest in my opinion for chicken and hope for a lack of internal injuries. That or go to an after hours emergency vet and spend big $$. :fl:fl

BTW welcome to BYC and so sorry it was a traumatic event that brought us together.
@007Sean @aart @KikisGirls any ideas not covered and greetings?

Oh dear. Thats an awful thing to have happen.

How big are the dogs?
There can be severe bruising and internal injuries too.

Keep the room they are in quiet and darkened.

They could be in shock so seconding the warm dark quiet room that casportpony posted.

I know what you are going through is a horror. I'm so sorry.
If your house is chilly turn up the heat.
Do you have a dog crate or something you can confine them in?
One at a time go over them head to toe and front to back, and under wings. You'll need to assess the injuries.

if you have a cell phone take good, clear close up photos of their wounds because posting them will help us help you.
Speak reassuringly and move gently but purposefully.

Use soap and water to clean muck and whatnot from the wounds. Apply pressure to active bleeding.
Report back as soon as you can.
