I have a flock of 8 chickens and lately they have started being mean to each other and have been pulling feathers out of each other, is it the pecking order or is it something else?

its probably just pecking order, I would also increase the amount of food you are giving them in case they are fighting over that

It could be an over-crowding issue or they may just be bored, how much space do you have for them?

That is plenty of space. What breeds do you have? Do you have any picture? I had a similar issue when I had too many cockerels together, I think it started at about 8 weeks too. I separated 2 of them out and things calmed right down.

make sure they getting enough protein and it is not a "feather eating" thing.

14' x 14'? Just the coop or coop and run?
