Thanks for updatingYesterday she was bullied sometime during a 2 hour window. She had been doing great, a bit of a loner, but active. When I went out to check water, she was in a corner, just seemed off. I picked her up and her little head had 3/4 of the feathers gone and was raw and bleeding. I took here in, cleaned the wound and put antibacterial ointment on it. Gave her water, she only drank a little. I set her ip
In crate, checked every 30-60 min and gave more water with dropper. Careful not to choke her. She became more listless through the day. My last check she was limp. I held her and comforted her, then she seized, pooped on me, and stopped breathing.I’m heartbroken. She would coming running when I went out to run, loved to sit on my shoulder or cuddle under my neck. I swore I would not get attached like that, but she won my heart. May she rest peaceful in Gods kingdom.
I thought that as well. TY for your kindness. So sorry for your loss, she was a lovely bird. It's hard to loose any, but especially a favorite. And her flockmates likely bullied her because they knew she was ill. Chickens can be tough!

Confession is good for the soul… well I’m devastated, as I believe I know why my little girl died. Hypothermia. I had given her a warm bath and cleaned the wound. Used a blow dryer and toughly dried her, but was inexperienced and underknowlefged, I did not know to put her under a warming light. Lessons learned but still feel just horrible. It was my fault!I have posted several places & have not received much feed back.
I acquired this young in’ 8/2/22. Supposedly hatched end of May. Told she was a Sapphire Gem. It’s obvious that’s not the case with feathered feet.
I am trying to narrow her breed to ensure proper care. Estimate age & recognize any issues. This is my 1st year owning chickens. I need to get her a Buddy, she is getting bullied. I have her inside for now.
ANY thoughts, advice etc is welcome
