Please help!

My husband decided that since we live on a farm, we should have chickens. I'm not positive that his assesment is right, but low and behold, we have 7 chicks. I think we're doing everything correclty so far. I just don't know how to tell how old these chicks are and when they should start going outside, or how long we have to build a coop? How do you know how old they are? The local TSC employee wasn't helpful when he sold them to us.

Need some pic's with something common next to them to reference size. Then I sure someone on here will know. This site has been so helpful. I'm a new chick mom and I have learned everything I need to know from BYC.
