please help!

I am in need of some advice... My hen runs away and then lays eggs. When the eggs hatch, she brings the chicks to our front door and we usually take it from there (this has happened a couple times now). However, today when we took her away from the chicks and put her in her own box, she laid down and started rolling her head around. I am not really sure how to describe it... It looks like she is looking up at the sky and then rubbing in between her shoulder blades with the back of her head. I don't know if she is distressed or hurt or what is happening. Someone please help! I do not know if she is ok or what I can do to help her.

It's natural for them to want to raise the chicks for the first 4 or 5 weeks. I suspect she's wanting her chicks back.
