Please Help....

This afternoon while all my ladies were out in the run I noticed one was missing. I looked in the coop to find Ringer standing with her wings hanging down and panting. She can walk but lays and sticks her rear up in the air. She won't eat or drink. I even tried to give her some meal worms, her favorite. She didn't even look at them. She just started laying on Saturday and we are not sure the blue egg we got today is from her. Is she egg bound? I felt her belly and checked her rear end out and everything seems normal. Any ideas?

Sounds like she is eggbound. Put her in a container of warm water up to her sides and while she is in the water, gently massage her underside front to rear for about 20 minutes and hopefully she'll lay an egg.

She dropped an egg about 1/2 hour ago and is back to her normal self. Is this something that can happen frequently? She is new to laying and I'm new to chickens!
