We have a sick sebright that I was hoping ya'll might be able to help us figure out what to do to help her live. She is extremely thin, no she does not have mites or lice we have checked, I think her cage mates just wouldnt let her eat enough. Shes been limp, cold and really tired since yesturday, she doesnt want to get up and eat. Im trying to keep her warm while my sister sleeps(its her bird) to see if that maybe will help, like get her blood moving better. She was eatting some earlier this morning, my sister took crumbles and sav-a-chick water and made a mash for her and her crop feels like it has food in it but she isnt getting better, im also dripping the sav a chick water in her mouth so she is getting liquids. She does have some poop from where she is going to the bathroom but not much. What do ya'll recommend we try? Keep doing what we are doing? Get her under a heat lamp so she gets warmer? She isnt getting better and she also isnt getting worse, we are going out later and could get something from the store if we need too.
Thanks

How old is she?

How long has she been like this?

If she is cold, get her under a heat lamp.

I have two thoughts..first, she has worms or, second it could be coccidiosis.

So, I would start on Corid immediately. You will probably have to hand feed her the medicine at first. Use a dropper and give her what you would think she would drink in one sitting. Do this every couple hours until she is drinking well on her own.

For the worms...I don't know what kind we are talking about but, you can start with Wazine and hope that it works. Most people like to use Valbazen but, you will need to order that online.

Offer her some mealworms, scrambled egg..anything with protein to try and give her a boost. Poly vi sol, without iron, .5mls per day would also be a good idea.

Good luck with your girl!

Scrambled eggs chopped up fine and baby vitamins without iron (a drop or 2) would also be good. I would dip her beak into water instead of dripping it so that she doesn't choke on the water. If she is still young and not well feathered she might use a heat lamp. Could she have coccidia? Is her crop hard or just a little full and mushy? It should empty out when she has not eaten. There are so many things it could be, but more info might be helpful.
