we bought 3 baby chicks all are different, we have the smallest one which is a barred Plymouth rock, second one is an Ameraucana chick, third one is a rhode island red,
the Ameraucana chick has stood on top of the Barred chick and now the Barred chick os not fully breathing and will not stand up, he is breathing through the mouth and is the smallest one, they have pecked at him more than once and we just bought them today we are new to taking care of them! someone please help us?!!!!!

I don't think the bigger chick hurt the smallest one. Chicks peck each other as a normal activity. Maybe this chick was doing poorly from birth- in the bird world a sickly bird is often picked on and mauled to death. I would separate him if you are able to do so. He will need a safe heat source, a stuffed toy or something else to cuddle with and feed & water (without others pushing him away) You could try giving him 2 drops of Polyvisol infant drops(NO IRON) 2 x a day.

Does he eat/drink at all. Has he been pooing? Check his behind to see if he has pasty butt, that's where the butt is soiled /caked up and prevents further droppings. Chicks can die rapidly from this. If so wipe his butt with a damp cotton ball until passage is available.

Glad you joined us! Best of luck with your chick.

I agree with drumstick diva - there most likely is some problem with that chick that was not caused by the others. Good luck, and understand that some are just not strong enough to survive. Welcome to BYC.
