please I need help with my quail eggs in the hatcher!

I will keep you updated! I have to keep reminding myself that a watched pot never boils, over and over again! Maybe things would go faster if i could follow my own advice! LOL

Update!!!!! I couldn't take the stress anymore so i just went to bed! woke up about 1/2 hour ago and no change, now i have 8 hatched and far as I can tell 9 .10,11 are on there way out this is soooo exciting. what a relief after believing that I killed the little guys. Whew ! hopefully still will have more coming, Sandy

See hardly even a day late. Quail eggs are very hardy and survive a lot of mistakes but they are somewhat unpredictable. You don't know quite when they might decide to hatch and sometimes they all pop out at once while sometimes they take their time. I have never had a chicken chick hatch more than a day late but I'll have quail hatching for 3 days.

Ok I wound up with 16 bobwhite quail chicks as of this morning, now what? how long will it take for them to dry off, the humity is really pretty high still and they still look wet. I did put some growgel in with them just now but nobody even looked at it. How long can I keep them in the incubator? there is still like 5 or 6 eggs left, so I don't know if i should keep them in there or toss them. How long should I give them before giving up , its only been one day since the others have hatched and only a matter of hrs for others. Any advice! Thanks Sandy

Thanks, I would love to post pics. soon as i can get them out of the incubator. They are soooo very tiny and cute but I cant wait till they fluff up a bit when I look at them with a flash light right now they look like little raptor dinosaurs in some mini world. This is also my first time seeing newly hatched quail, well really never seen too many grown ones either. lol

Quail are best removed within 24hrs of hatching. They can't survive for days without food like chickens. Gro gel is hit or miss. Some chicks eat it and many flat out refuse. If the humidity is already high just plug the vents for a second, slide the bator top (don't completely lift it off), and scoop the chicks off the sides where they usually run. You should be able to get most of them. Close it, wait for humidity to go up again, and repeat. Try not to do it too many times in a row. When they are out or mostly out and the humidity is back up then remove the plugs and wait for the others to hatch. It could take another day or 2.
