After losing two birds to the 108 degree heat (in Western Oregon GRR!)
I notice today that one of my white leghorns is limping.

Yup, bumblefoot.

The good news is that my sister, a RN, arrives today. She's about to get a crash course in avian wound management!

YET,
when your only complaints are about your blessings, you really don't have many complaints.

Hope the bumblefoot gets cured. I've never had to deal with that and hope I never have to. I hope the rest of your birds do OK too. hopefully you'lll get a cooler weather front soon

I hear you about that heat on the Western Coast side of things here where it is usually mild in summer... I'm roasting and slowly steam cooking at the same time. *pant pant pant*
Poop leghorn... I hope she gets better soon! I've read that confining the bird to clean deep litter after opening the wound, squeezing out the pus, disinfecting it, and dressing it is supposed to help.
