Yes, "the boy" milks all (but Zinnia) in the morning at 6:00, and only Glory in the evening at 4:00. Yet during the summer, spring, and fall, it's the same time, just all the goats morning and evening.
Also, we're intending to get a cow, for butter, and I (the girl) will milk her.
When I woke up the morning after the fire, it took me a moment to remember
the events of the night before. Then, it all came rushing back to me. I closed
my eyes, picturing it all in my mind. Looking up at the blazing tree, seeing the
falling branch, Zenneth Zenneth! My eyes popped open. Where was she?
I looked around quickly, then I caught sight of her, sleeping peacefully not
far away. She had bandages on most of her back. Poor thing, I thought, She's such a sweet goat, and doesn't deserve to suffer such a cruel and painful
injury. I looked up toward the chicken shelter and watched the chickens pecking
around it. If they hadn't seen the tree and woke up the humans I shuddered,
and forced myself to turn my thoughts to more pleasant things.
I walked slowly over to barn, waiting for the boy to come milk me. I was eager to
get my grain! He was a little later than usual, and I was hungry. So I munched on
some hay while I waited. When he finally came to milk me, I jumped quickly onto
the milk stand and started chowing down.
After milking I wandered over to where Athena and Essie were sleeping under the
shelter.
"Wake up," I whispered softly in Essie's ear. "We've got things to do!"
"Hmm, later " Essie mumbled and rolled over.
"Essie!" I hissed
"Hm?" She answered, still only half conscious.
Then, I heard the rain on the roof of the shelter.
"Oh, nevermind," I whispered. There was no use waking her up if it was raining,
because there was no way I was going out in the rain. Everyone knows all goats
are made of sugar and will melt in the rain! I went over to the other side of the
shelter and tried to think of what trouble I could get into. But I decided there wasn't
enough mischief to do under the shelter. I settled down in the straw and prepared
for another boring day.
