Henderson, TN - Dennis Darrell Cagle, age 56, passed away December 13, 2009 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Crockett County and grew up in Henderson County, the son of the late Ernest D. and Helen Lavern Hampton Cagle. He graduated from Sardis High School and worked at Salant & Salant Mfg. in Parsons for a few years. He began his career in Law Enforcement with the Henderson County Sheriff's Department. He was married to Judy Hill in 1984 and they made their home in Henderson. He began working with the City of Henderson Police Department in 1988 where he had been for 21 years. He was currently serving as Captain of the Department.
He was a member of the Bumpus Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club in Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Kaye Hill Cagle of Henderson; a son, Darrell Cagle of Decaturville; two daughters, Tabatha Bates (Marlin) of Springhill and Sonya Hickman (Ray Young) of Henderson; five grandchildren, Emily Cagle, Kristen Cagle, Dylan Bates, and Dallas and Ray Young IV; three brothers, Joe Cagle of Savannah, Danny Cagle of Scotts Hill and Gerald Cagle of Reagan; four sisters, Judy Ivey of Decaturville, Cathy Attaway of Reagan, Paulette Franks of Savannah and Janice Robbins of Savannah.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, at Loyd Auditorium, 162 East University Street, Freed Hardeman-University, Henderson, TN with Ronnie Geary and Bobby Barnes officiating, and burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Loyd Auditorium, 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday, and again Thursday until funeral time.
