if you breed a purebreed with a mix but keep inbreeding and inbreeding will your breed ever become true?

I guess its possiable but now say you breed a RIR roo to a Barred Rock hen then keep breeding back each new off spring to the same roo.You would wind up with pures but would also have all kinds of genetic screw ups and weak sickly chicks as the gene poo, has been narrowed to much...

Why would you keep using the same roo? You could breed the barred rock influence out by using another RIR rooster.

what do you mean by "breed the influence out"

Do some research on breeding methods, they are pretty much universal.

You are talking about grading up here, after about 4 or 5 backcrosses to the pure breed, they are for the most part just like the pures. In percentages their is still a fraction of the other, but is of little or no importance. In grading up a pure male is used on the percentage females ,each generation(cross males are not used for breeding. The same male is not used over again, but perhaps another male of the same line.

No; the example given was extreme inbreeding. Linebreeding is an acceptable practice, and does not involve breeding back to the same rooster generation after generation. With your initial cross, using multiple unrelated birds to make the cross can be used to prevent inbreeding.

I am assuming that the goal is to bring in a trait (usually a colour or pattern) into a breed that does not have that colour/pattern. In this case you select both for type and colour/pattern; it is a balancing act.

so with line breeding you can still make
your breed true?

Eventually. What are you trying to create?

The larger the gene pool you start with (several unrelated birds for each parent-type), the less likely inbreeding will become a problem.
