I would clean it off with water. THen apply triple antibiotic ointment (no pain relief) to it. Then keep the duck in a clean area over night see what it looks like in the morning. If it is looking good, I would keep applying the ointment to it then for about 4-7 days until it heals up. And just make sure it stays clean. This seems to happen often if it stays clean enough it won't cause an issue.

Put gentle pressure on it until the bleeding stops. You might wrap it with some Neosporin ointment for the night so it stays clean and dry and see how it is in the morning.

You need to make sure he does not bleed out, then you need to watch for infection. If bleeding wont stop use corn starch or seccond choice flour as a clotting agent. Once bleeding is stopped you can let it scab or use ointment.

Better than bleeding to death. One problem at a time, can always take care of a little infection later. Most people dont have clotting agent but corn starch works pretty good.

When my Muscovy lost her back nail ( she was solid white) so you can imagine how freaked out I was when I saw all the blood. She did bleed pretty good but even the blood stop didn’t stop it entirely I ended up holding her in my lap an wrapping her foot In a clean wash cloth till it clotted. After that I just left it alone at least that nail isnt on the ground as much as the others.
