please show me your pigeon breeding cages

AHA my dad if finally letting me build a cage by myself

....not that i dont like his help, but he super sizes EVERTHING

( my cage for 2 tux quails is 6ftX4ftX4ft FOR TWO!!!)

any ways im thinking of getting pigeons. what is a good size for a pair( breeder cage) and if u can please post pics of yours so i can see how it goes THANX...i hope that when im done building i still have the same number of digits as when i began

Depends on what kind of cage you have in mind. You can have a loft, which is like a chicken coop, so that when your breeding pair have babies...you'll have somewhere to put them all. If you just want individual cages for each pair, to breed in...then something as simple as an outdoor rabbit hutch will do. One of my pairs of breeders is in one, with two nest bowls and a perch across it.
In my 'dove loft', I have 9 individual breeding cages. It was originally going to be for doves, but now the only dove in there is chilling outside the cages, in the little open area of the building. Each cage is about a yard long, two feet tall, and two feet deep. Those are approx. measurements because I didn't build them and I don't remember what he said they were exactly

They work out very nicely though.

I'll go fetch my pictures for you to see. We also have an old bird loft and a young bird loft. But then again, I race my birds, so separate OB/YB/Breeder lofts aren't necessary for show birds or 'just for fun' birds

I have never owned pigeons, so forgive me if this is a dumb question...

Are those bowls on the shelves nests?

im just trying to get into pigeons again and trying out performers, though think my new ones look mixed with homers.. anyway, what kind are the bowls i see alot use, besides just the recommended and seeming large dog bowls? id assume the birds would like the lip edge, and the weight and all better of the ceramic ones.. were do you get them? do you just leave bare, and they need no nesting material? i ask as the doves took most out but put some back in till their poop builds up and dont seem to like a clean nest.. been using doves for foster parents, but think it was wearing them and their nerves out trying to have two pairs raise one racer from hatch! hahaha

thank you, as i was concerned about not giving enough space, but mine have that much space, if not twice as much, but was worried about them getting enough exercise, or enrichment, out of the space, and fighting or going neurotic (im used to parrots and the like). just got these four "rollers" though they look like maybe homer mixes, as far as size and shape, and look nothing like my buddies, but got good deal i think, unless all boys, then got swindled possibly if they dont fly, or just leave when try to fly them.. they seem unusually agressive, and the one has somewhat of fantail. one does make the noises of my buddie's female, aside from the one who coos and has huge puffy chest, and think two are their babies as one still squeecked alot and other some still. anything to do about aggression as far as them all pecking each other when they get close to others sitting? they tried to bully my young racer, but she (think she), ignored the male, and put the one think is female mother, in her place. the one who squeecks most, has bald spot either from mating or plucking by other males, but then it seems to be the most aggressive.

are all pigeons this aggressive at first to each other sorting thing out in new home right away???
i have doves i had to seperate from each other's pairs, and from pigeons, as the dark doves were attacking everything else in cage when housed the pigeons with them temp when got home.
