please suggest breed that is...

Part is going to be what you want them for...

I ADORE my silkies, but am not expecting to really eat any eggs from them...
My New Hampshire and Partridge Rocks are sweet as can be... hoping for eggs from these ladies.

My Polish are sweet and VERY curious.... honestly don't know much about egg expectation.

My 5 week old buff orpingtons are the friendliest I've ever had.. They fly out of their brooder(yeah I know..coop needs some tlc first) & land on us every time went go in their room...Yes our babies have their own bedroom..lol

My Welsumers are very friendly, docile, handle confinement well, etc. and love hanging out with us. I love them!

I have a Dominique and a BLRW who are both lap chickens. The BLRW is particularly friendly, and happily falls asleep sitting on my chest (cute at four weeks, probably not so much when she's grown...). The others range from friendly to standoffish. Of course, everybody loves me when I break out the treats!

My Salmon Faverolle Rooster is super friendly. He walks over to me when he wants to be held. One of my Buff Cochin girls also loves to be held. I agree if you hold them a lot when their chicks you'll have a friendlier chicken.

i didnt raise her from a chick, i got her when she was a few years old but my barred plymoth rock hen was the sweetest chicken i've ever met (except for a few of the one i hatched)

It seems to me like the more chicks you are raising at once, the more skittish they get. I think they all make each other more nervous, and you will have less time to give them individual attention. If you want to raise super-friendly birds, start with 2-3 from the friendlier breeds so you can handle them a lot.

My friendliest bird ever was a production red, with the brahmas coming in second. Right now I'm raising Easter-eggers, so we'll see how that turns out.
