PLEASE TELL ME ALL YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS ROOSTER (pic)

hello. we have a Chantecler
Partridge rooster. hes very protective over his girls, i mean like does this growling thing if i get close or hold one of "his" girls. he is the king in the coop and with the others. no doubt about that. just wondering your experience with this kind of breed. thanks in advance!

He is a gorgeous rooster, all right! I find the growling sound quite amusing whenever I hear my rooster use it when *I* am doing something with the girls. It's a warning sound - to them, from him. If it's supposed to warn ME, it's not working.

And that's all I know about YOUR breed of rooster.

I can't see the comb that well but he looks like a couple of EE roosters I've had. Gotta question though: How do you keep that garden so nice with chickens that close? Mine would have a foot deep hole or two by now with chickens dusting themselves like crazy.
