Going out on a limb here, let me guess........ hatchery stock right !!!! you don't have to answer we already know. Anyway as long as your happy with whatever it may be, that's the important thing.
Just maybe this is a female. The stance says female and male dark brahma's have zero penciling from what I can see. Your chick has penciling on the wings. Some female Cochins develop reddened combs and wattles early. I think there is some hope. Good luck with this beauty.
I am too new to chickens to have any idea but I have read a few accounts of people giving their "cockerel" to a friend only to learn later that he was laying 2-3 eggs per week.
Thanks loads guys, I really appreciate you all taking the time to advise me.
I was let to believe he/she was a full Brahma but it really doesn't matter to me as I don't breed anyway, they are just pets.
There is no way I can keep him if he is a boy as I live in a built up area and my neighbours would hate me! I would rather rehome sooner rather than later as I am already way too attached to him so he would be better going as soon as it is a definite as to what gender he is. Keep your fingers crossed for me folks
I will keep hold of him for a bit longer while there is any sort of doubt though as I would hate to give him away if he was a girl.
He is the sweetest chicken ever, he loves cuddles and comes running as soon as he hears the door open, probably in the hope of treats but I can dream that it's because he loves me!
