Please tell me!!! (MEALWORMS)

I'm going to grow them, and then feed some but keep the breeding going. If you mean FaceBook, no.
Yes that’s what I meant. There are some gigantic mealworm growing groups on FB that have been incredibly informative. Not necessary at all, there’s lots of info out there.

if you’re going to grow, I would look into a kit. Check these folks out:

The woman that owns this has been working really hard to support her family with these kits and she is super committed to providing ongoing support.

I’ve ordered multiple times from her. Sometimes kits are a scam with old beetles and hers are not.

I can add that once when I fed them slices of store-bought potatoes during winter (I was out of organic apples or anything else) most of them died. This winter I took care to avoid potato and everything was ok. So I'm not sure if it was something in the potato itself, or something the potato was sprayed with, that killed them.

I normally give them slices of apples, carrots or beet, but in case I'm out of those, I sometimes give them any large leaves from my garden.

I also read that after some time, when they get inbred, the females might start losing attraction for males. So it might be a good idea to add some new ones every few years.

Have you tried local aquatics/reptile/pet shops? I got one tub - enough to start a colony (a few hundred) - for £2.50 in World of Aquatics here (and pick up from shop so no worries about length of time in the post or P&P costs)
