She is a Gold Link, and she will be sixteen weeks tomorrow. Does she look like she might lay anytime soon?

Thanks, Scoop. She's one of the smaller of our pullets, but she has the biggest and reddest wattles. Hmm. I guess we'll see.

Does she squat? Does she mess around in the nestboxes? I am sure she will be laying soon (**by Soon, I mean within the next couple of months

I've been impatiently waiting for her to squat, but I don't think she does. Someone messes around in the nestboxes, but I don't know whether it's her, and maybe they all do, as the nestboxes are on the ground until they get used to them. Every morning I have to push bedding back into them, as they kick almost all of it out. No egg, though.

I think you have a little while longer to go. My Goldens laid at 19 & 20 weeks. They each started the squat exactly one week before the first egg. I know how anxious you are feeling though....my kids and I always referred to the coop as the maternity ward and we were the anxious family waiting for the new baby!

OH and by the way they were worth the wait. My two Comets are my most reliable, dependable layers. They regularly give me double yolkers too. Love those girls.

I have 40 sexlinks. They group I purchased last fall laid at 16 or 17 weeks. They group I purchased this spring 19 week old and only a few are laying.

I bet you'll have to wait a few more weeks. That's okay though. Less change of egg bound and stuff. It really is a good thing. I hate the waiting too. I only have one laying right now.

She sure is a pretty girl! 16 weeks seems pretty young to start laying, but I'm no expert. My 27 week old RIR has had a comb/wattles bigger and redder than that for weeks now and hasn't laid yet. *shrug*
