Is it possible that the knob turns and the mechanism doesn't, and yeah you may want to calibrate the thermometer, I have no less than 5 gagets in mine in case they all go hay wire LOL. You may just have a faulty thermostat.

I agree check your thermometers. I have a 1602n also. I did put a fan in mine. The temperature in mine does fluctuate from 98.8 to 100.4 with the fan.

I have 2, a digital and the one with the red liquid inside. They both agree. I candled last night and all nine are still kicking. So we will see.
