Well, when I got my chickens about 13 weeks ago, my younger brother decided to get some as well. Because I got my coop finished before he did, I brooded and cared for all the chicks until his coop was finished, at which point he took five of the fifteen over to his house. Well, he has been in hawaii this week, which isn't to big a problem because my oldest brother lives in the house with him and has been there to take care of things, or so i thought. I had a feeling I should make the twenty minute drive over there and check on the chickens, and sure enough when I got there they didn't have any water. It has been 90 degrees here today and I am pretty sure that they had been without water all day, maybe even since yesterday. I filled the waterer and they just drank and drank and drank and drank (well, you get the picture.) They were soooooooo thirsty. Anyway, after a while one of them bent it's head down and a good portion of the water came out, so now I am concerned that it might have an impacted crop. Is that a possibility, or did it just drink to much water to fast? If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.
