About 4 weeks old and my favorite little chickie! Just noticed today the 3-row pea comb that is often indicative of a little cockerel. Please tell my Cinnamon is a girl!
Three rows doesn't mean anything. Both pullets and cockerels with pea combs have 3 rows. Nothing about the chick screams cockerel ATM but give it a few weeks
Cockerels will develop the three-row pea comb earlier than the pullets but it will also turn red earlier and they'll have larger and redder wattles. I don't see anything that suggests cockerel.
Yes, the early 3 row can help identify cockerel but its not a guarantee. This little ones comb is still very pale and she's got a nice even pattern so I'd say she's a pullet at this point.
