This chick is supposed to be male (males for warmth, from Ideal) and I was going to butcher all 9 of the roosters, but 1 died at 6 days old and now I am falling in love with this chick. It's feathers are so soft. I am not sure what breed it is. I have another chick like "her", but he has a huge single comb and is annoying. The other 6 have flat, wide combs. They are all 5 1/2 weeks old.

Here is the chick in question.

It's a girl.

Whether it is or not. Ignore any sounds that resemble crowing.... It is way too cute to eat.

I'm gonna say its a girl! Oh and thats the same tile I have on my bathroom floor!!!

Looks like a buff cornish. I got a buff cornish pullet from Ideal last year and she looked very similar to yours.

I hope it is a girl. Maybe this is a gift from God. I am going to name her 'Jewell', after my Great Grannie. She just passed yesterday. I am not to sure she would want a chicken named after her :| , but it is meant in a nice way. Well, I guess I am keeping the chicken now. And if it is a boy, he'll still be named 'Jewell'.

By the way, this is the only chicken I have named.

She looks like my Buff Wyandotte.
