Usually when you have two roosters kept together and one is dominant the other will not crow. That might explain his voiceless-ness ;)

Yes but my other roo, Pete, is not the dominant one. He usually sits in the corner. He is not as strong because he has only one useful eye and a crooked beak.
 
No, just cocks. Every once in a while, you come across a hen with spurs, but that is very unlikely.
I have one of those. Brown leghorn hen. We thought she was a cockerel for the longest time. Wondered where those white eggs came from!!
She has big spurs too not just nubs.
Strange...
