I also feed 1/3 cup of cracked corn every morning when I let the out of the Coop.I use a local feed that is 20%. I feed it to all birds, including chicks I intend for meat, with oyster shell on the side. My birds semi free range. I say semi because I have only about 1/3 - 1/2 acre fenced in. Feed is available 24/7. I have 5 1 year old Beilefelder hens, and 5 3 - 4 year old Barred Rock and Chanticler hens. Since Jan 1 to 1 June I have 890 eggs from these 10 hens. I also have constant problem since May 5th of having 2 -3 hens boody all the time. More than before I started feeding the 20 % feed.
*MyI use the Golden Oak layer feed 20% and ny girls are popping out so many more eggs!
