Pllleeeeaasssee help me with sexing these Ayam Cemani chicks

Only certain crosses can be wing sexed. One of the parents needs to be fast feathering, and the other slow feathering.

I didn't know this and when I added my ACs at only a day old+, I attempted to wing sex them. I was hopeful that at least 2 of my 3 were girls, but one has passed - now I feel I have a 50/50 chance with my pair... Seems like I'll have to wait to find out now. With ACs, do you think I'll be able to tell at 6 weeks old? Or much older? I can't keep any roosters

The best way I can explain it is that since female birds have ZW chromosomes and males have ZZ, opposite of mammals because males have XY and females XX. Male and female chicks each get a copy of the Z from the dad, while males get an additional copy from the mom. When you a fast feathering rooster bred to a slow feathering hen, a copy of the fast feathering gene would go to both male and female chicks. Since males are ZZ, they get an additional copy from the mom, her copy being slow feathering. Since slow feathering is dominant to fast feathering, male chicks feather out slowly and females quickly. It's also only useful the first few days after hatching, basically the females have slightly longer primaries. I believe specific breeds are fast or slow feathering, so I don't believe any purebreds can be sexed this way

Probably older. Post pictures right now and I can see if I can help you out, and at 8 weeks you can repost and they should be rather easy to tell then.

I posted 4 pics with green background (I suspect boy) Check out the feathers curling up which I think is so cool but no idea why!? 4 more pics of the second one (I suspect girl). Her feathers seem more rounded... but as all have said, they’re super young: hatched approx May 1. Guesses welcome

Thanks for the reply. I figured it was too soon maybe a silly question if it is just what it sounds like, but, what’s water or mud hardening? They’ve never been wet or muddy (yet) lol.
