Hi!

So I was recently looking to get about 8 little bantam chicks off of a friend of my mum's friend, but we asked him over a week ago, and he still hasn't replied. I was hoping to get the chicks early spring, and he would need time to organize the hatching of the eggs. I live in Melbourne, Australia, and I can't seem to find any hatcheries near me. There might be one, but it is multiple hours drive away, has terrible reviewers, doesn't sell the breeds I want, and is CRAZY expensive.

This might be pointless, but I will give it a try. Does anyone have chicks near me, or knows of a place I can find some? I'm still not completely ruling out the original guy, there's still hope on that, but I wanted to broaden my options.

I'd be grateful for almost any offers, but the specific breeds I REALLY want are silkies (common), dutch bantams (less common), Araucanas/ameraucaunas/easter eggers (commonish??) and I'd be open to getting another interesting bantam breed, I especially like pretty and small ones, but would be open to most things (bantams)

I am looking for 0-2 week old chicks, so that I can raise them to be friendly and train them. I would like about 8 chicks. I am not allowed roosters, so I would try to see them, and rehome any cockerels to a good home. I currently have 4 bantam chickens, one is a cockerel, so we will have to rehome him soon. The chicks will live in a brooder, until they are big enough to go outside. I have already set up a little coop that they can live in until they are big enough to go with the older girls. I want to keep the chickens as pets, with the benefit of eggs. I don't need extremely high production ones, but I'm happy for good layers!!

There are certain color varieties I want too, but if I narrow it down anymore, I think I'd get nothing.

It would make my day if anyone has any suggestions!!!!!!

Thanks!!!

Thanks so much for the offer, but I’m pretty sure Ayam cemani don’t exist in Australia, so I would assume that you don’t live near me.

Also, great news, I FOUND SOME CHICKS!!! I saw a gumtree ad last minute! I’m going to pick them up this morning!

Thanks so much for replying! Your chicks are gorgeous!!!!

I can’t seem to edit my original post to say I found some...hopefully that won’t annoy people...
