pls help!!! my silkies are spreading danfruff kind of thing

hello everyone...i need ur assistance...my silkies...when i move my hands in their feathers, they spread very tiny dandruff kind of thing...tiny as dots, i can see very hardly when its on ground but when i move my hand i can see easily a rain of tht dandruff kind of thing, 1st, i thought its mites, but its not moving....can u have any idea what can it be??

I would have a look under the wings for mites, it could just be dust as they like to dust bath..

i know its not dust bcoz the flakes are in white color as dandruff...second, when i move my hands on their feathers for around 1 minute, and then my fingers are become little oily kind of thing

Do they have a dust bath as it can make the feathers oily if they don't have one, you could wash the bird down, I've never done it myself but the skin may be irrated and dry

Recent new feather growth? When new feathers grow in, there is a covering, which flakes off as the feathers grow.

yes this can be a reason...so is it anything to worry?

Keep an eye for anything else, but if it's the outer coating sloughing off from new feather growth, it's normal.
