Pls help rooster with swollen ankle

I have a gamecock he’s been a relatively healthy boy about a year old I noticed he was limping so I check for bumble foot and other diseases/injuries that could cause the limp and I noticed his ankle is pretty swollen I was wondering what could cause this and how could I treat it,in advance thank you

Answers to this could vary widely, from an injury to some sort of infection. Photos may help. You say he is a gamecock, by any chance is he tethered on that leg?
