At what age will a Plymouth barred rock roo start crowing? I have two 17 week old PR and they look so different from one another....
One is lightly barred, yellow legs, starting to form curly tail feathers, read come and wattles.
The other is really dark, no comb (very light pink), dark legs (sooty colored).

thanks,

Ooops....that's 'comb'.

From your description you have a pair.

The sooty legged one is your girl, the yellow legged one is your boy.

Roos will have wider white bars, the girls have wider dark bars (so they look darker overall). The girls also have a dark "wash" down the front of their legs.

When they are just hatched, (the general rule - some don't fit in here) is that if it has a large white spot on it's head and yellowish legs, it's a little boy. If the spot is more defined (edges more clear to define) and smaller and has the dark wash down the legs, it's a girl.

If they have any cross breeding in there, however, they might not fit this general rule.
