Agreed.I think probably a blue Orpington or Marans, due to the white legs. It is definitely a cockerel if it is only 6 weeks old. The big, red comb tells the tale there.
I don't know what I'll do.. I only have 5 other birds and they're too young to discern sex yet. If this is a rooster and ends up being the only one, I'll breathe a sigh of relief, BUT the girls won't.. there's only 5 of them.I think probably a blue Orpington or Marans, due to the white legs. Hopefully it is the only one. Don't feel obliged to keep cockerels. Many people give them away or eat them.I don't know what I'll do.. By 6 weeks old you can usually be fairly positive on what you have. Makes will have developed bigger and redder combs and wattles than females at this age. Feel free to post pictures of your other chicks if you'd like helping sex them.I don't know what I'll do.. I only have 5 other birds and they're too young to discern sex yet. Thank you. I am not absolutely certain of ages, but I understand the blue to be approximately six weeks. In the next pictures I believe 1 (Silver Laced Wyandotte), 3 (Gold Laced Wyandotte), 4 (ISA Brown) and 5 (Buff Orpington) to be approximately 5 weeks, while number 2 (Amberlink) is thought to be approximately 3-4 weeks.By 6 weeks old you can usually be fairly positive on what you have.
