Hello, first time post, but this has been my go to for the last week as we try and navigate what's wrong with our hen. We purchased her from a local seller with three other hens earlier this year, we were told they were all just about to hit POL. All three have laid for over two months but we don't think she has laid herself as we have currently separated her and still getting same amount of eggs.
About a week a go I noticed she was seeming a bit sad and keeping to herself, sitting instead of running to us for feeding time. Two days later she was walking like she was drunk and walked into my sons legs. This is when we isolated her to try help her. We have treated her for mites, scaly leg mites, by spraying oil and tried a powder on her legs, we have been giving her vitamin supplements and electrolytes and trying to get her to feed, we have tried tuna and scrambled eggs. She's not moving, able to stand and when we spray her legs her legs shake, she can still flap her wings a bit to help balance herself, but majority of the time we have her wrapped in a towel to stay warm and she's flat on her side, never sitting propped up. We are checking her regularly and for the last week, trying to get her to drink the water with the supplements, without the supplements and some with electrolytes in it. It's been 5 days and still no improvements. Yesterday I finally got some ivermectin and put a tiny drop on the back of her neck. She still seems to be pooing, which I think is more from having more water than food in her diet at the moment due to her not really eating. She has lost some weight, but she was a big girl to begin with so maybe that's what has brought us more time. Is there anything else I can try? I feel sad for her.
