Plymouth Rock Contest-End Date: October 20th, 2018

I know the contest is over, but here’s a pic of my barred rock Willow. She has an probable impaction of soft egg material in her reproductive tract and is on meds now, possibly even needing surgery. So I will post her pic cuz she can use some love and prayers!!

She’s beautiful! Hope she makes a quick recovery and surgery can be avoided!

A day (actually, five) late and a dollar short! Was just about to submit a picture of my BR hen and then saw the end date...love all the pictures, though!

Thanks, everyone, for letting me play along even though the contest is over!

Name: Amy (Farrah Fowl-er)
Age: Almost 4 years
Variety: Barred
Size: LF
Gender: Hen
Other: When I first got into raising chickens almost four years ago, Amy was the first chick I brought home. I later brought home two more barred rocks and named them Penny and Bernadette. Unfortunately, Bernie became highly aggressive and was rehomed and Penny died from heatstroke last year during a two-week spell of 110+ degree temps. I've added some other birds to my flock over the years (who I love), but Amy is the sturdiest, friendliest, and most entertaining of all of them. She's currently molting (and looks terrible with no neck or tail feathers), but when she's laying, she regularly lays the largest (I'm talking jumbo) pinky-tan eggs. Don't tell the others but she's my favorite girl and I hope she's around for years to come.
