Jessica is back to laying after her "break"...yeah!

I had a nice conversation with an owl last night (

) and three hawks showed up today, so it looks as though the birds are staying in.
Oh well, it'll give me a chance to collect more eggs.

I had a chick peeping ever-so-softly to me last evening, and today there are several that peep strongly when I whistle, so maybe I'll see some chicks today.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, we are getting 1 egg every 2-3 days out of which ever SPPR pullet decided to start laying. Our barred rocks are laying 2 eggs almost everyday from 2 hens not bad. One of this hens is nearly 3 years old. My 2 barred rock pullets from DMRIPPY are looking good, especially the one which has really nice looking size.

They are good layers too. I am getting 2-3 eggs a day from my 4 pullets. I have to hatch them.... I NEED to hatch them.... they are fertile from the solid Blue roo but not the Black yet. Not giving up but I do still have Scott's black with silver leaking as a back up if needed.
