I was very fortunate to have meet John Beauchamp & Richard Hickman at the ABA Nationals in Knoxville last December. Both were very helpful in getting me into the Plymouth Rock Fanciers Club of America.

Not many White Rocks represented on this thread...that needs to be remedied! Got some pics of WR pullets from Kathyinmo hatched this spring.





This past summer at the local hang out....they have dirty faces from dusting.














And some old hatchery stock WR hens for comparison shots.

Nice looking birds, it is always nice to see different birds.

Are Plymouth rocks and Barred Rocks the same breed or ar they 2 names for the one breed
and what is a black rock then

The breed is Plymouth Rock

The varieties of that breed include Barred Rocks, Buff Rocks, White Rocks, Silver Penciled Rocks, Partridge Rocks, Columbian Rocks.

Different countries and their governing poultry association accept differing colors, such as black or blue. Some accept different colors in standard of Large Fowl and other colors in the accepted bantams.

Consult the poultry association of your own region to determine which varieties are accepted.

The breed is Plymouth Rock

The varieties of that breed include Barred Rocks, Buff Rocks, White Rocks, Silver Penciled Rocks, Partridge Rocks, Columbian Rocks.

Don't forget blur rocks! a black rock is a solid black Plymouth rock. not an spa approved color yet..... blue is apart approved and as with breeding any blues you will get blue black and splash.

I ordered 12 Silver Penciled Plymouth Rock chicks from Mr Horstman April of last year. I was very happy to see how healthy and very active they were upon arrival. I would highly recommend Dick Horstman to anyone interested in the Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks. My Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks are now 9 1/2 months old and I am still very happy with them today.
