Sorry to hear about your poor pullet. This thread isn't overly active and isn't specific for injuries. I suggest maybe posting this in the Emergencies/diseases/injuries Forum you will likely get many immediate responses there.I have one barred rock pullet, Rosemary that was raised with 2 other chicks and my ducks, and the 2 other chicks passed away earlier on.. She doesn't get along with the other chickens, only the ducks. The problem is, the duck pen gets so muddy, and the other day I found her laying in the mud with the ducks stepping on her! I cleaned her off and she was doing fine, and I decided to move her and the ducks both into the chicken coop so they could be out of the mud. All went well, until yesterday when I couldn't find her anywhere, only to find her beaten up by our mean EE hen. She pecked out the feathers on half of her head and on her eye. I cleaned it out, and put neosporin on it. She still hasn't opened her hurt eye, but she is eating and drinking. I seperated her from the other chickens and the ducks too, but when should I move her back in with them? Do I need to wait until her eye and head are fully healed, or can I put her back once she isn't sick anymore? Sorry for blabbering on, but she is so sweet and I want to make sure Rosemary will be okay. Thanks![]()
Assuming my barred rock sexed hen is not a hen. HE/she is between 4 and 5 weeks in this photo. Any thoughts?
