So.. I have raised many ducks before. However I recently acquired two babies maybe a few days old yesterday. The weird thing is they don't seem to be getting attached to anything.. Not me or each other. If I take one and hide it from the other they are both fine. Which I mean isn't a huge problem for me but when I put them in their brooder one doesn't stop peeping after a minute of being in their. The only time he stops is when I play music off of my phone.. I've never heard of this before with a duck. Everything else is perfect with them though. They have food, water and heat. I also take them out to play as much as possible. Now when I say peeping I don't mean the usual chit chat, it's the "hey someone help" peep that makes any duck owner cringe. Which I would normally put them in a different room and play music at night but I live in a single room and the people next door can hear my every move. Please help and don't just give me the usual " they love to peep, deal with it. "

Lily looks to me like she might be a Khaki Campbell.

I am not going to dismiss your concern. I don't have a quick answer, though. Just some thoughts.

They have food, water and heat 24/7, yes?

Wondering if a stuffed toy and-or unbreakable mirror in the brooder might help. Also, might something be making the little uncomfortable or nervous? Are there any moving objects overhead, like a flag or a swinging decoration (I have some very creative friends who hang metal stars and mobiles in their homes).

No hidden leg bands pinching the leg? Sounds like a colicky baby. I wonder if some electrolytes and probiotics might help.

Oh, duck parenthood…..

I don't think she is a khaki only because Ive had two khaki's before and they looked way deferent! however the picture makes her coloration look off. She is a grey color with a very faint yellow bib. But thanks for the reply!! Ill test both of these out and hopefully it helps! Thanks again!

Grey with a light colored bib is probably a blue Swedish duck. Lotsa times they have spotted feet.
