PLz tell me she IS a hen

To my understanding the girls have a reddish chest and the boys have brown feathered chest. You should be getting eggs anytime now. If you could post some more pictures of them that would help us. If they havent crowed and they have red instead of dark brown chest feathers then they are girls.

seriously though, I do think the are both hens at that age, maybe getting close to laying?

I have a (suspected) Welsummer hen ... she is also laying late, a very outgoing and bossy personality, and a deep cluck - but no crows, so I'm just waiting for her to turn into a real lady instead of the hellion I have now.

Girls, it's the coloring. I have 7 and love them, really different personalities than my other breeds. They make interesting sounds too, like a screendoor needing oil on it's hinges. My only complaint is I've had 2 that picked out tail feathers, but I gave them the cure (pine tar) and they have changed their ways.

The girls are very good and sweet they are on education farm were we teach people about the chickens and were eggs come form. 100s of kids have and well pet there first chicken. The wellsummers have been the chickens I gave been taking out to meet the people. Very sweet and love to just sit with you.
