I swapped guinea eggs with another BYC member and she mailed them out Monday. The USPS tracking/delivery confirmation page shows they arrived at 7:07 this morning. They were scanned in by someone, but never delivered and no one called me re them. I've called 3X today and no one knows anything about them.

I am so mad now- she shipped them so I'd get them on my day off (today.) I work tomorrow and Friday and am out of town for the long weekend. I'm not very hopeful about these eggs now at all. Not to mention my poor broody Silkie hen who so wants eggs to sit on.!
Why do we pay more for stamps and services there, but their service is worse than ever? My local PO closed due to asbestos and we go to the main PO now. You'd think they'd open more windows...but every time I'm there, I wait 1/2 hour in line because they have only 1 or 2 windows open. AGH!

How disappointing! I'm sorry to hear about that, I'm sure you're very disappointed. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they arrive, I guess better late than never (hopefully before this weekend though)...

My poor little Silkie will be so glad when they arrive- I'll finally let her keep some eggs to sit on!

they are still lost! unbelievable! My carrier called this morning to say she'll show her boss the paperwork to see who scanned them in yesterday morning and where they actually arrived at. She thinks another PO maybe and they just put in the wrong zip code...to look like they arrived at our home PO. Its a mystery, that's for sure!

that what happened to mine! I made like 100 calls and nobody knew! until the next day they came in. Maybe give it time ?

I have to give it time now. But if and when they ever get here, the eggs will be too old to put under my broody hen. I feel so bad for her. I just wanted to get new blood into my guinea family. I don't want to have all my birds from the same parents....the PO hasn't called me since Friday morning about it...

I had 4 eggs come in 10 days after they left the sellers house. I put them in the bator and 2 are still developing, so don't give up on them yet.

not sure what to think now. My carrier is so good to call me every time a box of eggs or chicks shows up there. She knows I want to come right then to pick them up. She didn't see any box of eggs or any box (for that matter) for me, so she was going to her supervisor about it on Friday. Not sure how this box was marked....ie- "Fragile- hatching eggs inside" is what I usually write. I wrote that and Guinea Fowl eggs on her box when I shipped it. So not sure what to think

or do at this point, other than wait

and tell my Silkie to just hold on a little longer.

well, I called the PO today after I learned the shipper used General Delivery for my box. The guy on the phone said they were sitting right there on a shelf and when I picked them up, the lady at the window said she's seen that box sitting up on the shelf for a week and wondered what it was doing up there. Duh...call the phone # on the address label, maybe? So between my addy not being on the box and my carrier not getting it in her batch of mail, and then the rest of the PO staff not doing their job (to call the # on the box) I have these 8 beautiful guinea eggs 10 days after being shipped. My Silkie hen is ever so happy to get them, but I'm afraid of them ending up being rotten under her in a week or two. They have to sit there for 28 days now...What a fiasco this has ended up being.
