Hi,

One of our younger hens has developed an odd condition. I've attached a picture of the hen in her isolation space. At first I thought it was a crop issue, but with further investigation it seems her neck has become 'S' shaped. As I understand it the crop is lower in the chest area. When I stretch out her neck, the chest area seems normal, and the neck feels extremely curved, into an 'S' shape. She's been like this for just over a week.

Is this crook neck (wry neck)? We've been treating it as such, with Vitamin E, rest, electrolytes and isolation.

Is my diagnosis correct? What else could it be?

Thanks!

it does look like an impacted crop, maybe so large its forcing her neck back? is she eating and drinking? any other symptoms?

She is eating and drinking, without problems. She's also pooping regularly.

Other symptoms: She was walking with wobbly legs a few days ago before I brought her in and started the electrolyte/vitamin e regime. The wobbles seem to have cleared up.
