Pointed Eggs

Has anyone ever heard that the pointed eggs are suppost to be roosters?

I have a older couple telling me that they have always went by this....

What do ya'll think ???

If it were the case, hatcheries would not be hatching out all the rooster chicks that they then discard. It is not factual.
