I only have the shinies you gave me... Tell me. How does one 'chain' to get a shiny?

You get the pokeradar, which enables you to encounter the same pokemon over and over again. You keep using it and after about 40 encounters, the chance of getting a shiny is increased quite a lot. There are a few tutorials on how to do it, I suggest you look them up. It's VERY hard, I've only caught my Pidgey. My longest chain was 47 zangooses, and no shiny,
Fishing chaining on the other hand is a lot easier. You just need a rod and a pokemon with the suction cups or sticky hold ability. Have them in the first spot in your party, and fish in the exact same spot without moving. You keep fishing repeatedly until you get a shiny, and you have to encounter a pokemon every time, so if you reel the rod in too fast or too slow, the chain is broken. The same goes for if you don't get a nibble.

You get it after beating the elite four and champion. You'll have to look up how to use it, it's hard to explain in words.
