the pip started at round 2:30pm its now 10:37. the chick only broke through the outside of the eggshell but not the membrane, I can just see white membrane with a small dark spot. Its day 21. once and a while I hear peeping and its rocking, some of the other eggs are rocking and no pips on them yet.

no worries yet....did you have some temp fluctuations? sometimes some cold will delay a hatch a bit

might look at you r humidity

Humidity is is 75, temp is 99.8, its been pretty stable, should I worry that the white membrane is exposed but not broken for so long?

I have some Marans pips that started around 9AM this morning. . . It is now 11PM. And mine haven't even broken through the membrane either. I hear though that you should not worry yet, as sometimes the pipping process can take over a day, and still have a hatching chick.

Mine in particular (Marans) are said to be tricky and late hatchers.

I'm really worried now its 6AM and no chicks, the one still has the white membrane showing without change.

It can take a full 24 hours or more for a chick to fully emerge from the egg. Hang in there. I'm sure everything is fine.

This is the egg I was talking about, it now has another pip but might not be through the mebrane either.

But this little barred cochin has decided that he or she doesn't plan on coming in second

The first one finally broke through the membrane, I can see his / her beak sticking out a little hole in it.

The other one is still fighting to break out the rest the way, its almost there, there is a crack around the shell.

The other eggs are not doing anything yet, I'm not sure if they will, they still might suprise though the cochin was not really showing much movement yesterday and its almost out.
