Pokey hatched! and another pip! pics on page 2

Sometimes the break in the membrane is so fine, or along the shell line that it can be hard to impossible to see.

I talk to the eggs every once in awhile - seems to encourage them a bit.

the first one guess I should call him "pokey" is finally zipping and moving pretty good, he might beat the barred cochin. One peeps then the other peeps and they start fighting harder at getting out. Pokey is pretty loud, I can hear him across the room.

Now I just wish the other eggs would do something.

BC is to the left, Pokey to the right, Pokey is a speckled sussex, the egg is bigger but the perspective is off due to the curved incubator lid.

edit:
Minutes after the last pic pockey broke out, hes been doing laps around the incubator and playing soccer.
