Newbie from a small town in northern Illinois. I don't have any chickens and not sure my wife would ever go for the idea but what I'm seeing here is giving me the urge for fresh, homegrown eggs.

Fresh eggs are good stuff, frequently we will eat eggs for breakfast that have just been laid.
You could try to convince your wife with little chicks, we have managed to sway people with how cute they are.
