This morning I noticed my 39 week pullet acting a little off with white poop on her backside. I checked in again a few hours later and could see red. Immediately caught her and confirmed she was starting to prolapse.

A quick perusal of threads in the forum (I was about to leave) led me to give her a 10 or so minute Epsom salt soak and lubing her with Vaseline before holding the prolapse in for about 5 minutes. She passed a regular poop while I was holding it in.

Currently have her isolated in a double cage to keep the cocks away from her with electrolyte water.

Anything else I should be doing/not doing with her?

Evening update on "Little Dummy" (yes, that's her name).

I went to treat her and she's looking so much better I'm thinking it's best to let her rest and not bother her.

Little Dummy is much better today. I'm keeping her separated for now so the cocks can't get her yet.

Happy I haven't needed to do anything aside from that initial bath and Vaseline application.

Lord, have mercy. I forgot to lock her cage and she escaped back to the coop. Prolapse recovery was not affected, but by the tone of her chittering at me from the nest box she may be going broody. At least are won't be trying to push out any eggs, but I have enough broodies already!

Pic of her spoopy face since you've only seen her butt.

She looks like a Halloween character with those bright orange eyes and black feathers. She's my spoopy gal. Only her right eye has the little dark streak under the pupil.
Are you still going to keep her out of gen pop so she doesn't get pecked?
I'm going to keep her out til all sign of swelling is gone because the cocks are currently in breeding overdrive. The mature boys are pretty chill, but the younger two are a bit, well, cocky.
