Hi, Chickenfan!

I breed White Crested Polish and they can be rather difficult to sex (with the Frizzle Polish being even harder!). Usually, a roundish ball-like crest does mean a girl but I've had some boys who have developed a point from their round crests down along their back as they've gotten older. Then, as they matured, their crests have fanned out a little at the side of their crests and, lo and behold, a male! It looks like you have females there but keep an eye on "Passion". Above her nose, the fleshy part, where the comb will develop, appears larger than the others. Keep an eye on it as if it becomes pinker or redder than the others, you may have a boy there. Unless, it's just a very mature hen! Hopefully, I'm wrong but that won't be the first time! Lol! The boys grow bigger than the girls as well, of course! :) They look as if they are all of the same age so you should be able to notice any differences as they get older.

If Passion starts to play the "Charge and Stare Game", then, that's another sign of a male. But, don't worry. It doesn't mean that the other one who participates is a male also. Probably just a strong willed female who is asserting herself in the pecking order. The "Charge and Stare Game" is just simply that: they charge at each other, sometimes bobbing their heads up and down with their beaks nearly touching. Then, they just keep absolutely still until one of them gives way losing the match. Quite amusing, actually! When asserting herself in the pecking order, a female may just give a few pecks, raise her body a bit or even give a little chase. But the "Charge and Stare Boys' Game" is very different. If it doesn't occur, well, lucky you!!!!

Lovely looking birds!

Btw, I'm trying to find a pure bred Cuckoo Polish breeder in Australia as I lost mine to a fox last year. If you hear of anyone, please let me know. Thanks. :)

Good luck!

Onmy got one pic on ny phone at the mo. Trying to determine whether they are pullets or cockerels! They are a month old. At what age can you tell?
